The Samples

Bio

The Samples recently put the finishing touches on what
may very well be their greatest work to-date. Assembling
over 3 CD’s-worth of music recorded for The Samples’
upcoming CD series, it begins with “Anthology In Motion—
Volume 1,” due to be released in stores August 13th 2002. “Anthology In Motion, Volume 1” consists of incredibly rare
and new songs, (some never heard), as well as powerful live renditions of songs such as
‘Streets In The Rain,’ ‘Who Am I,’ and ‘Radio Song’.

“There are versions of songs that date back to 1982 on this CD. There is a version of “Ocean Of War” from 1983. I was obviously just learning to sing at this point and did not let my vocal inabilities get in my way. Hearing some of these songs really rejuvenated my love of music. Most people would have stopped right there if they sounded like me. I am very thankful that I did not. Parts of this album can be unforgiving, refreshing and cleansing at the same time," said guitarist/vocalist Sean Kelly.

“Anyone who is into this band and our music, past or present, will undoubtedly enjoy this Samples triple CD,” said Kelly. "We came across so much music for “Anthology In Motion” that it was decided we will eventually have to make a Volume 2. There are over 45 tracks on Volume 1 alone."

With plenty of demos written by Andy Sheldon and many brand new songs such as “Falling In Love”, “Seventeen” and a song called “Last Summer” written about the 9/11 tragedies, “Anthology In Motion” will likely become one of The Samples’ most revealing and intriguing Cds of their career, with very modest artwork that will be combined with probably the first-ever interactive CD/website, done Samples style.

This CD was produced and mixed at Egan Media Productions in Winooski, VT.
“I have stepped into many studios in my time and this studio is probably one of the nicest. I have always wanted to do this project and I am very excited that it is being completed in Vermont, the very place that most of this music was recorded or written,” said Kelly.

For The Samples, “Anthology In Motion” will surely inspire their second tour of the summer, which kicks off in Colorado on August 27th at Red Rocks Amphitheater, and runs through September 2002.
Fresh off the heels of touring in support of their latest studio CD “Return To Earth,” this summer’s tour should prove as successful as the last, and continue to build new fans of The Samples and “Return To Earth.”
