The Horace Van Vaughn is an improv group comprised of three local musicians in prominent local bands.

In june on 2005, a last minute ensemble was thrown together to fill a slot for a show in Boulder, CO. Thought to be a one time meeting, The Horace Van Vaughn was so well received, they felt they couldn’t just abandon the project.

Now, every so often, THVV will take the stage and unleash their sonic rape on a crowd ranging from 3 to 61 people. The mixture of bowed guitars, reverb saturated vocals, electronic programming, mathematical breakdowns, and unholy decibel levels has left audience members asking “are you guys on acid?” and “can you guys do some Nirvana covers next time?”.
