Bio
Minor Note Orchestra through their inimitable style, hip aesthetic and constant gigging, has become synonymous with all the things that make Denver’s live music scene so enjoyable. Having honed their self-proclaimed genre of “crime jazz”, which melds various jazz styles with rock and pop song structures,Minor Note Orchestra has become known for unique originals and sizzling standards that always have the crowds dancing and clamoring for more.
Minor Note has tallied up an impressive number of both fans and gigs in the short time the band has been in existance. Along with frequenting countless venues, clubs, and bars throughout Denver, MNO landed the coveted position of house band at 3 Kings Tavern to accompany the sultry ladies of Ooh La La Burlesque for their weekly “Panties at the Bar” showcase. In 2009, the band expanded their route to cover mountain resort locations like Vail and Steamboat and, toward the end of the year, released their debut full-length album, “Pawntification”, through Ridiculous Records LLC. Highlights from 2010 included a successful summer West Coast tour, two acclaimed performances at the Denver Post Underground Music Showcase, and even a night spent serenading an eager and receptive crowd at the Governor’s Mansion.
Currently, Minor Note Orchestra is working to make 2011 their most productive year yet. Fresh material is aching to be recorded and new cities are begging to be explored. Check out the band at any (or all) of their upcoming gigs and ready yourself for a live experience unlike any other.
