Bio
The buzz surrounding Kill Paradise, which features Nick Cocozzella and Bryce Hoops, is growing louder as listeners get hooked by the groupʼs brand of infectious electro-pop.
Born and raised in Denver, CO, Kill Paradise mastermind Nick Cocozzella is a true artist with a passion for creating music. Cocozzella learned how to play piano at the young age of five, and was performing live at the age of six. Cocozzella’s thirst for musical knowledge was never ending and he taught himself how to play guitar, drums, violin, and harmonica. From there, Cocozella started to perform with various local bands, but he remained more interested in writing and recording material of his own.
In 2004, Cocozzella began writing a series of pop songs and recording them on his laptop with the help of his college roommates. The tracks were infectious enough that Cocozzella opted to independently release the songs under the moniker of Kill Paradise. The songs quickly cultivated a cult following in the online world, and Kill Paradise began touring the country to fans that knew every word to the groupʼs songs.
After touring the country and building their fan base into an online army that has since registered over 9 million plays via MySpace, Kill Paradise joined forces with California based BreakSilence Recordings (Brokencyde, Eyes Set to Kill) for the release of their debut album, “The Second Effect”. The album will be exclusively released through Hot Topic stores on Nov 10th, 2009, in a unique partnership that allows fans to purchase the album, along with exclusive merchandise, at any Hot Topic location. “The Second Effect” gives listeners an unguarded look into the thoughts and feelings of Cocozzella and Bryce Hoops as they discover the exhilaration of falling in love in “Fall From a Star”, swim in the shark infested waters of the music business in “Punch”, and deal with the death of loved ones in “Miracle”.
“We worked really hard to make sure there wasnʼt one track listeners would skip over. Every song is a great song and can stand on its own,” commented Cocozzella. “The songs on the album are really fun and bouncy, but pack an emotional punch to them. I just want to put a smile on people’s faces. I want people to feel the same way I did when I saw my first concert and it put a big smile on my face.”
