Bio
With a new CD, a new band and a fresh perspective on the music business, John Nathan is ready to take on the city of Denver. With the rising popularity of the “Americana” music format, this veteran country rocker feels the time is right to show his hand and perform extensively this coming summer.
Having cut his teeth playing guitar in every funky country venue in L.A. during the eighties, joining a couple of rock projects as well, he spent most of the nineties honing his solo performance chops at Denver’s open stages, working and reworking his songs in front of live audiences.
When he won an award from the Colorado Country Music Hall of Fame for Songwriter of the Year 2002, the stage was set for his first full CD release, “Party of One.” Featuring “Instant Heartache” and nine others, Party of One may well be the springboard for a tunesmith of rare quality on the local level.
Instrumentally, John is accomplished as well, having played most of the instruments on the disc and, most notably, remaining on call as backup guitarist to local legend “Uncle Dick” Meis in the venerable Denver Joe’s band.
With a group of Denver music veterans including ex-members of Sweet William and the Whatnots and The Beauregards, John is prepared to perform in support of “Party of One” under any conditions, solo, “unplugged” or fully electric with the band.
