Bio

8th ElemEnt. is a Denver-based Hip-Hop camp featuring all authentic, made from scratch beats and original lyrics. The Origin Kemist, who you could call the original member began making music from the time he was big enough to reach the keyboard and drum set. His influences came very early from close family members who were involved in bands and music production. Ask anyone who knows him, and they will tell you that music has been his number one focus as long as they can remember. G., Kemist, NexKin and Ance all met in junior high and high school, and have been like family ever since. Although G. has never been active musically, he plays a very essential role and is the backbone of the organization. As long as music has been being made in this circle, he has made decisions, supported financially, managed production and offered guidance in any way possible. NexKin began writing rhymes over Kemist beats in the late 1990’s. An impossible to overlook charisma and desire elevated his style quicky. An even more apparent no lose attitude and an uncanny ability to crush his opponent thrust him onto the scene of local battle rapping. Hip-hop battles were typically not organized events at that time in Denver, however, NexKin’s early fire was unquestionably sparked while battling in basements, house parties and cypher circles. Cirus, who is truly a product of Hip-hop music, has been rhyming since before his age numbered two digits. Meeting the group through mutual friends, he came into the picture in late 1999. With his addition, the group Illfuzionz was formed and the dream came to life. Soon after songs were being written, and recording began in a makeshift studio set up at DJ Spock Nuckle’s house. Production, in time, outgrew the studio’s capability, and the group moved on to Global Sound and eventually, Colorado Sound, where recording continues to this day. Ance, who has always been what you could call the younger brother of the group spent early time with them simply as a fan, supporter and close friend. It wasn’t until early in the year 2000, that he had developed his vocal abilities to the point where he was comfortable singing on tracks. He was featured on many Illfuzionz songs and in time, became a full member. The Next Step In the fall of 2000, while G. was managing a Denver area restaurant, he hired and became friends with Mista Poedic. Over the next few years, they became inseparable. Dangerous, label technical manager and childhood friend of Mista Poedic, also joined the crew while in employment there. Meanwhile, Mista Poedic began to discover and explore his amazing ability as a lyricist. A meticulous nature and a hunger for perfection resulted in the development of one of the most complex rhyme styles on the scene today. A natural stage presence earned him spots at countless Denver venues and the respect of numerous local artists and fans. Furthermore, an impressive grind and dedication has transformed him into the front runner on one of Denver’s hottest independent record labels. The Present It took until mid 2008, when common involvement in a large social event brought all parties together, before 8th ElemEnt. became a reality. Their collective view of today’s music industry has united them in the common goal of pressing “reset” and bringing it back to the foundation of artistry over imitation. Not long after it’s inception, the label added Chicago born, Denver representing producer BOGS one, who’s gritty, and in your face style of production is well recognized locally and rivals anyone in the industry. Upon his addition, 8th ElemEnt.‘s production team, Lab Teks was formed along with best friend and co-in house producer, Kemist. This team has recently brought Gamer Life producer and lyricist RH1N and turntablist Mr Willis to their mixture. This group will be composing the soundtrack of all upcoming 8th ElemEnt. & Gamer Life releases and mixtapes. The cast of characters continues to grow with the recent additions of female vocalist Kasi and lyricist Dyme Sacc, who both have projects in the planning stage at this time. Most current additions include lyricists Menice and Chi-Stee who, along with others, including Young-Jay, Fame & Crystaal will have the lead on a number of 8th ElemEnt. Mixtapes that are soon to come. The label’s debut releases are now available. Mista Poedic’s “The Saidative”, released 10/16/09, as well as the follow up release, NexKin’s “Nexcaliber”, released 8/13/2010. Several other projects are in the works, and there is much more to come.
